2015 might be the year of  click-and-collect e-commerce, according to Deloitte in its latest 2015 Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions report.

The report was released last week and it says that strong growth is expected in Europe in particular where e-commerce is much more mature. It predicts that frequency of home delivery might nose dive in the UK in 2015, suggesting growth in e-commerce has to come from other delivery options such as the click-and-collect model.

According to Deloitte, “The key “friction point” in e-commerce continues to be delivery. People are not always home to receive their orders. About 13% of all retail sales in 2015 to come from online will see fully a third of all online sales being delivered to click-and-collect locations this year”.

Click-and-Collect e-commerce offers all the benefits of shopping online with option of picking your groceries up at a time that suits you from secure designated location – generally called “Locker(s)”.
