Who needs cable when there are better soap operas in real life?

The administrators of the Facebook  group, So You Think You Can Cook (SYTCC), a community of food enthusiasts, had a rude awakening following what could only be described as a hostile takeover of their popular social media channel.

Apparently, one of the group’s 11 admins, one Mr Franklin Awodiya, decided he was tired of being a shareholder in overseeing the group and would rather be overlord. So, like every dictator before him, he eliminated the other admins via deleting and blocking them.

Why? Well, reports say he wanted to commercialise the Facebook group but the other 10 admins said no. After trying to reason with the other 10 “unreasonable” people, he decided he’d had enough, evicted them as admins and blocked them.

Before you get your pitchforks out, some balance has been restored to the universe. The group’s original owner and creator, Bola Coker, somehow convinced King Franklin to grant her some administrative rights and, the bets are off as to the first thing she did.

Hey you, kid who said, they got married and lived happily ever after, go stand at the back, raise up your hands and close your eyes. Dumb kid. Next thing you know, he’ll be taking over somebody’s twitter account.

It’s all settled now, the original admins have been restored to their rightful place. The Facebook page now flaunts a banner, “We’re Back, the original team”. An “in your face” to Mr Awodiya. Like I said, TV soap opera material.

Mr Awodiya, who I think should go into politics, join the military or teach a leadership 101 class, spoke to TechCabal on the events and acknowledged deleting all 10 admins which according to him was necessary.
