The organization revealed that it is looking to have 10 million participants with 30,000 events and competitions across 160 countries during the week long event.
“Interest in startups and entrepreneurship continues to grow in all parts of the world,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network. “Global Entrepreneurship Week provides a shot of adrenaline at one concentrated moment to help provide nascent entrepreneurs with access to research, programs and network they need to maximize their potential.”
The Global Entrepreneurship Week will run from the 16th to 22nd of November.
Activities highlighted for the event include, Startup Open; a global competition for startups that will identify 50 startups around the world who will vie for a grand prize of an all-expenses paid trip to Medellin, Colombia for the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in March 2016.
There would also be a Startup Nations Summit to facilitate the exchange of ideas among startup-savvy policy advisors and players in the ecosystem.
The Startup Nations Summit will hold in Monterrey, Mexico and will serve as the finale of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
