Well, this is interesting. For 300 Kenyan Shillings ($2.96) every year, Kenyans can now operate a “virtual post-office box” with the Postal Corporation of Kenya. I links your physical box with a virtual address (which happens to be your phone number), and you’ll get notified whenever you receive an package. The service is useful because Nairobi lacks a proper addressing system, and people still need to receive their letters and documents and all that jazz. Post boxes in their traditional form (snail mail) are an outdated concept, so I like that Posta (as they are fondly called) has added a mobile tech layer to things. 🙂
