Seedstars Accra was last night and e-learning startup, Chalkboard Education, emerged winner out of the 10 startups that were invited to pitch.

Chalkboard Education offers plug-and-play mobile learning solutions that work on any device, and without Internet connection too. The team at Chalkboard are not only happy with their win, they’re also optimistic. Founder and CEO, Adrien Bouilloit says,  “If I judge by last year’s winners I think the global summit in Switzerland is going to be life-changing. Last year’s winners Asoriba had an amazing year and we hope to be able to do the same with the help of the Seedstars platform.”

Apparently, picking a winner last night was pretty difficult. According to Seedstars World Africa associate, Selam Kebede, “The quality of startups in Ghana is absolutely impressive and it was very hard to choose a winner amongst so many great companies. However, we are very happy with our decision to take Chalkboard Education to our global summit.”

The first runner-up of Seedstars Accra 2016 is Landmapp, and TECHAiDE is the second runner-up. The other startups that were at last night’s event are HQ Renewable Tech, GoSun Stove, Krinotech Solutions,Cocktail Insights, SynCommerce and Nubian Oryx.

Chalkboard Education winning means they’ll be representing Ghana at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland, where they’ll attend a week-long training programme and pitch for a chance to win $1 million in equity investment.
