It has been over a month since the Nokia X Portathon held at the iDeaHub in Lagos. Developers where given the opportunity to learn how to properly port their existing Android apps to the Nokia X platform, with the incentive of prizes for the best ported apps.

After a rigorous selection process, which involved testing all submitted apps, the winners have finally been decided. Cash prizes were given for 1st place ($1000), 2nd place ($750) and 3rd place ($500) as follows:

  • Ayooluwa Ajekola, 1st place: Wazobia Translator
    – an app that enables users cross-translate words and phrases between English and the 3 major Nigerian languages.
  • Bukola Akinfaderin, 2nd place: Jandus Radio – an app that allows users stream live and online radio stations.
  • Peter Ekerete, 3rd place: Recipes from Nigeria – a mobile recipe book for Nigerian dishes.

All 3 Android apps can now be download directly from the Nokia X store.

In addition, consolation prizes of Nokia X devices were also given to the rest of the winners.

The Nokia X Portathon was hosted by Mobile Monday
