Telecoms and network infrastructure provider, MainOne, says its tier III data center, MDX-I has become the first Data Center in Nigeria to cop both the PCI DSS and ISO 27001:2013 certifications.

The company’s CEO, Funke Opeke said this while the certification documents were being presented at the company’s head office.

“We are delighted to be the first commercial Tier III Data Center in Nigeria to assure our customers of both PCI DSS and ISO 27001:2013 certifications,” she said.

The certifications mean that the MDX-I data center complies with globally accepted standards on Customer Data Security as well as commitment towards the security and protection of the company’s information assets.

The Data Center was certified following a comprehensive ISO27001 audit carried out by British Standard Institution (BSI) group while the PCI DSS assessment was conducted by Digital Jewels Limited, a PCIDSS QSA and an Information Value Chain Company, according to an emailed press release to TechCabal.

MainOne opened the tier III data center in January 2015, splurging up to N 7 billion on the facility with capacity of up to 600 racks designed to provide colocation and cloud services for Nigerian corporates.
