MDX-i, MainOne’s data center subsidiary has launched a cloud-based service offering – in partnership with Microsoft – to provide private computing environments for companies.

The company says the solution is built on Microsoft Azure’s enterprise grade infrastructure and the offering can be accessed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

“The new cloud platform is a scalable and cost effective alternative to dedicated computing resources deployed in-house by companies,” says Rob Lever, MDX-i’s Business Development Executive. “It includes managed virtual data centers, virtual private servers, and virtual LANs to assure customers of high availability.”

The solution, MainOne says, also includes CPU, memory, security firewalls and network bandwidth, provisioned on a subscription basis.

This is MDX-i’s first partnership with Microsoft. The data center recently acquired the double certification for PCI DSS and ISO 27001. It is the first data center to hold the two certifications in Nigeria, the company said then.
