West Africa’s largest omni-media gathering, as The RED Summit has been described, was created as a platform on which African media stakeholders can explore new trends and forge new paths in response to an ever-changing landscape.

“By convening the biggest gathering of media leaders across all fields to define the course of African media, the aim of The Red Summit is inspiration at scale, to engage directly and inspire as many practitioners as possible. Discussions at the summit will allow a younger generation see the scale of what is possible, by breaking down walls so that they can access the full potential of the media.” – Chude Jideonwo, Managing Partner, Red Media Africa.

Over the course of the event, a plethora of topics including, but not limited to Ad blocking (and its effects on the online advertising business), the survival of print media in a country that is quickly digitising, and convergence, were discussed, and local media icons like Chief Olusegun Osoba, Betty Irabor, Amin Mousalli, Mo Abudu, Richard Mofe Damijo, John Momoh, Biodun Shobanjo, Nduka Obaigbena, Bunmi Oke, Cyril Stober amongst others were recognised for their outstanding achievements and contribution to the media space over the years.

“As we celebrate our 10th year in running a media business, we decided to honor these ones who have gone before us, these legends who created the path we walk on, who built the foundation we rest on, who have inspired many of us and that is why we say we stand on the shoulders of giants. We thank them!,”  said Adebola Williams, Founding Partner, Red Media Africa.
