The rising significance of cyber threats to Africa, the Middle East, and Europe’s national security is a top priority for international cybersecurity awareness training firm, KnowBe4. For the first time, its annual cybersecurity event set to take place on Thursday, September 23rd 2021, is coming to EMEA.‬

With an evolving variety of attacks emerging globally, the event is geared towards helping ‬organisations across Africa, Europe and the Middle East stay abreast of changing cyber threats and learn to mitigate the risk of cyber attacks. KnowBe4’s 2020 African Cybersecurity Research Whitepaper reveals that about 48% of people indicated their concern about cybercrime, while 52 aren’t even aware of what ransomware is. This illustrates the importance of bringing international insights and best practices with localised experiences to make the event even more relevant for organisations across EMEA.

“Europe, the Middle East and Africa all have their own unique challenges around cybersecurity and user awareness and training, so KB4-CON EMEA will include presentations tailored to address these,” says Anna Collard, SVP Content Strategy & Evangelist Africa at KnowBe4, who will address a partner session during the day.

The free event will unpack the latest cybersecurity products, trends, and strategies for CISOs, infosec practitioners, customers, and channel partners.

To kickstart this, KnowBe4’s CIO Colin Murphy will be discussing the latest trends that hackers are using to social engineer end users, with the world-renowned hacker, Kevin Mitnick. Mitnick will also be sharing some intriguing insight having been the FBI’s most wanted hacker. This will include a live hacking demonstration and social engineering tradecraft.

There will also be a discussion led by another prominent figure in cybersecurity, international cybersecurity expert and Chief Research Officer at F-Secure, Mikko Hyppönen, as well as demos of advanced cybersecurity solutions. Mikko Hyppönen will provide some insight into whether the internet was the best or worst innovation of the new era, and the different ways that global networks are affected by surveillance and crime.

Meanwhile, Greg Kras, Chief Cloud Officer & Chief Product Officer at KnowBe4 is also set to introduce the Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness Training Platform, and Chris Cline, Director of Product Management at KnowBe4 will take attendees through some of the benefits of KnowBe4’s web-based platform, PhishER, which helps to identify and respond to user email threats faster.

Other sessions taking place later in the afternoon will enlighten KnowBe4 customers and channel partners on the KnowBe4 product roadmap, how to add value for users and ways to boost security culture and security awareness training. Anna Collard will also be speaking on the future of workplace security.

KB4-CON EMEA is a free, virtual, single-day event to be held on Thursday, September 23rd.‬ For more information and to register for this event, click here or go to https://www.knowbe4events.com/kb4-con-emea/home.
