Healthtech startup, Doktorconnect was accepted into the Texas accelerator program, Capital Factory.

Doktorconnect, a Texas-based health tech startup with core operations in Nigeria, announced today that it had been accepted into the prestigious Texas-based accelerator program of Capital Factory. Capital Factory is the foremost accelerator for tech startups in Texas, working with over 700 companies.

Doktorconnect launched in February 2021 with a clear mission to make preventive care more affordable and accessible on the African continent, starting with Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy. This is done through subscription-based wellness programs, telemedicine services, do-it-yourself rapid diagnostics test kits, and digitally enabled medical devices.

“Our acceptance into Capital Factory further validates our efforts to transform healthcare delivery in Africa. As a Nigerian-trained physiotherapist with over two decades of experience in the United States, I am thrilled at the opportunity to bring my knowledge and insights from practicing in the USA to save lives in my home country and continent”, says Dr. Joseph Olowe, CEO of Doktorconnect.

Getting into Capital Factory provides Doktorconnect access to a network of 200+ world-class mentors, 1,000+ investors, dozens of corporate partners, and a community of talented entrepreneurs through shared co-working space and events

Doktorconnect plays in a market with serious problems such as acute shortage of medical facilities, low doctor to patient ratio and a high rate of preventable deaths. However, it is a promising market with Nigeria’s healthcare market growing 9% YoY and the global telemedicine market projected to reach $431 billion in 2030. Doktorconnect’s vision isn’t just to transform healthcare delivery in Nigeria but across Africa.

Since launch, Doktorconnect have onboarded about 30,000 users, served corporate organizations such as BDO, FSDH, etc., and secured major partnerships with over 13 Health Insurance companies and even state governments.

“We are the first healthtech company to introduce digitally enabled medical devices that sync with the Doktorconnect app, giving doctors and users real time access to their vital records” says Adewale Osideinde, Country Manager, Doktorconnect.

Furthermore, Adewale said “Doktorconnect is blazing the trail with innovative products including the first of its kind NAFDAC approved at-home testing kits set to launch in Q4, 2022 to address a problem experienced by tens of millions of Nigerians.”
