Nigerian social payments platform Supacash has launched #100kSmilesChallenge, a Valentine-themed giving challenge designed to use technology to scale everyday generosity beyond romantic relationships.
The campaign, which officially launched on February 3, aims to help 100,000 Nigerians receive small but meaningful cash gifts through Supacash’s giveaway feature, reframing Valentine’s Day as a moment for community-driven kindness.

At the core of the challenge is a simple mechanic: participants are encouraged to gift ₦1,000 to at least five people using the Supacash app. Users can set a giveaway amount, select the number of recipients, generate a link, and share it across platforms such as WhatsApp. Once claimed, funds are credited instantly. The company is tagging the movement #5k5Smiles.
While Valentine’s Day in Nigeria has traditionally centred on couples and expensive one-to-one gifting, Supacash is positioning its product as a tool for redistributing love across wider social networks—friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, and even online communities.
One standout feature of the campaign is accessibility. Recipients do not need to have the Supacash app to receive funds, reducing friction and allowing anyone with a smartphone to participate.

“Valentine is fundamentally about love, and love scales best when shared,” said Overcomer Idemudia, CEO and Co-founder of Supacash. “With #100kSmiles, we’re showing how technology can make generosity simple, transparent, and verifiable.”
Supacash describes itself as a social app built for a new generation of givers, turning everyday generosity into a fast, shareable experience powered by links and community participation.
