OneDosh, a global payments platform, has concluded its sponsorship of the Lead City VC Cup, a multi-day football tournament held at Lead City University, Ibadan, bringing together students, sport, and everyday financial experiences in one shared space.

The tournament featured 12 teams and over 250 players, with each match drawing between 80 to 150 spectators, culminating in a high-energy final on April 9. But beyond the games, the VC Cup became a meeting point for something bigger: community, culture, and access.

At the heart of OneDoshโ€™s presence was a simple idea: show up where people already are, and make money work better in their daily lives.

โ€œAs a company, weโ€™re not just building a product, weโ€™re building with people,โ€ said Babatunde Osinowo, Co-founder of OneDosh. โ€œThereโ€™s a generation that is already global in how they live, but still limited by how they move money. What weโ€™re doing is meeting them where they are and removing those everyday barriers.โ€

As the sole sponsor of the VC Cup, OneDosh was fully integrated into the experience, with on-ground activations, student interactions, and direct engagement throughout the tournament. Students didnโ€™t just see the brand, they interacted with it in real time.

From signing up on the spot to exploring how the platform works, the experience was designed to feel natural, not a forced part of the event, not separate from it.

โ€œIโ€™ve had issues trying to pay for things online before, especially subscriptions,โ€ said a student at the event. โ€œWith OneDosh, I tried it and it just worked. It made things a lot easier for me.โ€

The tournament also featured a โ‚ฆ1,000,000 grand prize and a โ‚ฆ500,000 second-place reward, further energizing participation and engagement across campus.

For many students, the VC Cup was more than a football competition; it was an introduction to a different kind of financial experience, one that fits into how they already live, spend, and connect.

This activation builds on OneDoshโ€™s growing presence across campuses through its ambassador program, where students are not just users, but active participants in shaping how the platform shows up in their communities.

With the success of the Lead City VC Cup, OneDosh is set to expand similar initiatives across more universities, continuing to build a network that connects culture, community, and everyday financial access.
