Ager App announces the official launch of its Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a comprehensive mobile solution designed to tackle the critical challenge of post-harvest loss. By integrating inventory management, real-time weather data, and community networking, Ager App provides smallholder farmers and agribusinesses with the digital tools necessary to increase profitability and ensure food security.

According to the Food and Agricultural Organisation, nearly one-third of food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted (FAO 2025), with a significant portion occurring between harvest and the market. In Nigeria alone, up to 50% of produce never makes it to the market due to outdated farm practices, fragmented supply chains, limited access to finance, and inefficient production systems. Ager App enters the market to bridge this gap, offering a streamlined platform that transforms how farmers and traders manage their daily operations.

    Empowering agribusiness through integration

The Ager App MVP introduces a robust suite of features tailored for the realities of modern agriculture:

    • Inventory & Restock Alerts: Real-time tracking of stock levels helps users minimise spoilage. Automated alerts notify users when supplies are low or when perishable goods need to be moved quickly.
    • Sales & Customer Management: A simplified CRM allows users to track transactions, manage buyer relationships, and identify their most profitable sales channels.
    • Community Networking: A dedicated space for agribusinesses to connect, share insights, and foster local trade partnerships.
    • Hyper-Local Weather Updates: Integration of precise weather forecasting helps users make informed decisions about harvesting, storage, and logistics.
    • Data Analytics: Intuitive dashboards provide insights into business performance, helping users transition from gut-feeling decisions to data-driven growth.

“As a farmer, I experienced a terrible loss last season, so I understand what other farmers and agribusinesses face. Post-harvest loss isn’t just a waste of food, it’s a waste of plans and resources.” said Adetola Olajide, Co-founder of Ager App. “With this MVP, we are putting a powerful digital brain into the pockets of agribusiness owners, helping them see exactly what they have, who wants to buy it, and how the environment will impact their success.”

    Driving economic resilience

The launch of the MVP marks the first phase of Ager App’s mission to build a more resilient agricultural value chain. By reducing waste and improving market access, the app aims to increase the household income of producers while stabilising food prices for consumers.

The Ager App is now available for Download on Android in the play store. For more information about the platform and its features, visit https://www.agerapp.com.ng/.
