Phase3 Telecoms, a telecommunications networking operator, has announced plans to lay 3000 kilometres of Fiber Optic Cables over the course of the next 18 months. This will be in addition to the 6000 kilometres of fiber optics already deployed by the company.
The company will be carrying out this project in partnership with PCCW Global, a Hong Kong-based telecom service provider. By this partnership, Phase3 hopes to bring about a boost to broadband connectivity in Nigeria – and other West African countries – by leveraging PCCW Global’s vast international Multiprotocol Label Switching network covering over 3000 major African cities including Nairobi, Dares Salaam, Maputo, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
