Le Baztion, a leading consulting firm in design, construction, and engineering outsourcing, has partnered with Ananse Africa to deliver the Ananse Centre for Design Lagos: Africa’s first fully integrated design, fashion, and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
This landmark project, supported by the Mastercard Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture & Creative Economy, marks a defining moment in the continent’s creative evolution.
The Ananse Centre’s launch event drew some of the most influential voices across fashion, design, and enterprise. The unveiling not only celebrated the completion of a physical space but symbolised the birth of a pan-African creative movement, one that places infrastructure and education at the heart of innovation in the creative economy.

For years, African fashion has inspired the world through Ankara prints and intricate bead work, yet designers have struggled with poor infrastructure, limited access to training, and restricted market reach. The Ananse Centre for Design Lagos was created to close these gaps, offering a 1,200-square-metre hub where creativity meets commerce.
Le Baztion’s role in the project extended beyond architectural design and execution. The firm took on full project management and delivery responsibility, ensuring a seamless transition from vision to reality, transforming concept drawings into a world-class, functional creative ecosystem that matches international standards.
“Our collaboration with Ananse is proof that when creativity meets structure, economies transform,” said Ayodeji Toyobo, Managing Director, Le Baztion. “This project represents our commitment to building ecosystems where design fuels empowerment and innovation drives growth.”

The Broader Outlook
The Centre aligns with Le Baztion’s broader mission of “Building Visions, Empowering Talent”, connecting creative excellence to economic opportunity. By fusing craftsmanship, sustainability, and human potential, Le Baztion continues to set the benchmark for how design drives social and economic transformation, proving that creative infrastructure can catalyse Africa’s long-term industrial growth.

Located on Nike Art Gallery Road, the Centre is equipped with fully fitted studios for fashion, leather, footwear, photography, and digital content creation. It also provides training and certification through the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), teaching not only design but also business management, digital tools, and intellectual property, bridging the critical gap between talent and opportunity.
