Things got hot up at Mxit HQ at 2am yesterday, when an electrical fault set a part of its offices on fire.
Mxit chief financial officer Richard Newton said in a report that, “There was a fair amount of smoke damage that is limited to a small area on one floor.”
The fire outbreak will not deter business activities in any way as their staffs would be relocated while damages are repaired. “It’s business as usual,” Richard said.
Mxit says that while the fire was in an area of the office that was fairly contained, it didn’t affect any one department.
