Facebook has unveiled an update to messenger that allow users send a map of their location as part of a conversation in messenger or as a separate message. Facebook announced the feature yesterday.
Facebook says the location sharing feature is completely optional and nothing has changed about the way personal location information is received.
“With this update, you have full control over when and how you share your location information,” Facebook says, “You only send a location when you tap on the location pin and then choose to send it as a separate message.”
To Start:
Open a conversation and tap the more icon (…).
Tap location. (A blue circle will be seen displaying your current location).
Tap to send
So, say you wish to tell someone to meet you at a restaurant, search for the restaurant and send a map of where it is to the person. Not that hard, or is it?
