Nigerian payments processing company, Interswitch, has received the level three clearance on CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) framework. An appraisal that means Interswitch has locked down a defined process for service delivery at the same mastery as similar payments company across the world.
The company is also the first company in west Africa to get the level three appraisal, according to an emailed press release to TechCabal.
“The appraisal demonstrates the commitment of Interswitch to maintaining and improving its operational excellence across the business in line with international best practices,” Group Managing Director, Interswitch, Mitchell Elegbe says.
The CMMI framework was developed by experts at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at US-based Carnegie Mellon University, and the models provide guidance for developing or improving processes that meet the business goals of an organization. The maturity appraisals range from levels one to five.
The benefits of the level three maturity appraisal to the Interswitch customer, the company says, are a guaranteed high quality service, a more robust risk management system, and enhanced product performance.
