Businesses will now be able to find hires “on-demand” via PushCV’s new feature, Text2Hire. It seems odd ; on-demand, but it’s pretty nifty stuff.
Whereas the regular practice is for companies to put up vacancies on job sites, the product allows businesses to send out a request for candidates via SMS and receive prospects within days.
Companies can begin the process by texting [HIRE] [SPACE] [THE VACANCY TITLE] to 30812 e.g. HIRE CIVIL ENGINEER to 30812.
According to PushCV, when a company sends out a request, their “hand-picked, pre-screened candidates that match your exact job description will be delivered to your address in 3–5 working days.”
The duration for companies outside Lagos is between 5 and 7 days. Longer but bearable. Definitely better than posting vacancies on multiple job sites.
PushCV didn’t say, but I imagine most of the hires PushCV’ll be sharing with companies will come from the pool of 5000+ candidates selected via its Employee Quest from back in February.
Matching pre-screened talent with employers was the gap that PushCV decided to fill when it launched in a space that was already dominated by Jobberman and populated by a dizzying number of job sites listing the same limited offers. PushCV itself has grown at a rapid clip; it’s now one of the most trafficked websites in Nigeria. Alexa ranks it at 176.
The Text2Hire service is available on MTN, Etisalat, Glo and Airtel and each SMS costs N10. Companies can also request candidates online via the PushCV website.
