Since its inception in 2012, DEMO Africa has taken place in Nairobi, Kenya once, and Lagos, Nigeria twice. It’s just been announced, that the fourth edition will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, in September 2016.

The conference was initiated by LIONS@frica, and exists as a platform for African tech entrepreneurs to pitch to international investors, in a myriad of sectors. Agriculture, Health, Education, Manufacturing, Retail, Media and Entertainment, Communication, Transport and Logistics, Energy, Finance, Water, Sanitation, Waste Management, and Recycling are the sectors to be supported in this edition.

Over time, Nigeria and Kenya have had lots of representation at the event, and this move towards southern Africa will surely drive interest, among the startups birthed in that pocket of the continent.

If you’re interested in attending, you can now submit an application, on the DEMO Africa website. You’d need to have a working product and a scalable model first, though.
