    Thanks to the Wayback Machine, we get to unearth the digital past. Here’s how 7 of Nigeria’s most popular websites looked when they first launched, as far back as a decade and a half ago.

    Nairaland

    Nairaland was launched in 2005 by Seun Osewa. That’s more than a year before Facebook became available to the general public. Last year, the online forum celebrate reaching the 1 million user base mark.

     

    Vanguard Newspaper

    This is what everyone’s favourite online newspapers looked like when it lauched in 2000. How times have changes

    Linda Ikeji

    Linda opened a Blogspot account in 2006 but didn’t start blogging till 2007. What started as a hobby grew into one of Nigeria’s most visited sites today. For reasons best known to her, she has chosen to stick with her original blogspot.com sub-domain.

    Punch on the web launched in 2003.

     

    Jumia

    Originally Kasuwa.com and relaunched as Jumia in 2012. The site has seen quite some changes in a short span of 2 years.
