The 2015 Mobile Money and Digital Payments Africa conference is happening in Johannesburg, South Africa from the 19th through the 21st of May, 2015. Returning for the seventh time, the conference is where innovative companies and leaders in African payments gather each year to discuss the most exciting developments in that space.

One of the highlights of the event is the Payments Dragon’s Den competition, for which TechCabal is pleased to be a partner.

The competition is geared towards identifying and recognising African startups that are working on the next big “disruptive” thing in payments for the continent. If your product promises to be “a game changer for how people move, manage and spend their money” –essentially the next M-Pesa — then the payments dragon’s den is a great opportunity to get it in front of a qualified audience of senior buyers that include retailers, transport operators, local government authorities, banks, MNOs, corporates, gambling operators and more. Win or lose, exposure of this sort could take participating startups and products to the next level.

The competition is open to all payments startups across Africa, and the deadline for applications is Friday 10th April, 2015. More information on the event and applying is available on the official event page.
