iROKOtv’s company CEO, Jason Njoku made the announcement earlier today on his personal blog.
“iROKO are happy to be in the mix. We are partners in extending a significant chunk of our library as part of their new OTT box, mobile and internet offerings. Lebara and iROKO share a common perspective,” Jason said.
Lebara Play is the Internet TV offering of telecom group, Lebara, and it launched over the weekend in Europe with a catalogue of over 3, 000 movies in more than 13 languages and with 150 channels. Pan-African channel, Ebony Life TV and Lagos-based terrestrial TV channel, Silverbird are other licensees on Lebara Play.
The services are currently geo-fenced in Africa.
iROKOtv, after Africa Magic, has the largest catalogue of Nollywood titles in the world and the company has been signing a slew of content partnership deals in recent months. iROKOtv signed the deal to curate two dedicated channels on the Pay TV provider, StarTimes and a similar deal few days later that will see iROKOtv curate the African section of Netflix.
