Uber cabs with investors waiting to hear startups pitch their ideas will be trawling parts of Lagos tomorrow, July 28 2015.

It’s UberPITCH powered by Uber. The mobile pitch event will see startups share their ideas with investors under 15 minutes inside an Uber cab.

“UberPITCH is your chance to get in front of some of Lagos’ most accomplished investors,” the company said.

Entrepreneurs will have seven minutes to pitch their ideas and seven minutes for feedback from investors. The chairman of Lagos Angel Network, Tomi Davies and MainOne’s CEO, Funke Opeke are some investors that Uber mentioned in its official news release.

Lagos is the second African city hosting the mobile pitch competition. The first African edition was in Nairobi where property’s search startup, Kejahunt won $150 Uber credit and a spot in the PIVOT East workshops. Uber is pairing up with Seedstars to host the Lagos event and the winner will earn a spot at the Lagos Seedstars pitch tour that will hold on July 31, the final day of the Lagos startup week.

The UberPITCH rides are free and will run between 11am and 3pm tomorrow.  All rides will end at the entrepreneurs’ pick up location, but rides are limited to Victoria Island, Lekki Phase 1 and Yaba.

To request an UberPITCH ride, open your Uber app tomorrow and select the special UberPITCH option. If you don’t have the app, check the Apple Appstore, Google Playstore or Windows Marketplace depending on your device.
