Kaymu Nigeria has launched its first Kaymu Village community centre in Yaba, Lagos.
Sefik Bagdadioglu, Managing Director of the Nigeria-based marketplace officially launched Kaymu Village on Wednesday, October 21 in Yaba. According to Bagdadioglu, “The pace of innovation within the ecommerce space is incredible, yet the way we buy has remained the same for years. With the Kaymu Village, we want to offer people a place within our local community where they can play, experiment and learn about all of what e-commerce marketplaces has to offer.”
The center features what the company described as “Free WiFi Zone” where people can access the entire Kaymu site, and all of its information and opportunities for free. It will also have a space where people can pick up and drop off orders for deliveries within Yaba and Surulere.
In a press release, the company describes the new community centre as a place that “provides a testing ground to see what approaches work best in reaching customers, something Kaymu can then replicate on its online marketplace.”
Mimi Omokri, Kaymu’s Head of Marketing and Partnerships, added that “the best marketplaces just flow: there are no barriers. With Kaymu Village, we want to help our customers and sellers stay in the moment. No matter where they are, how savvy they are with technology, or what device they are using or how much money they want to spend, there is something for them on Kaymu. At the end of the day, we want ecommerce to just work, so that people can get all the things they love whenever they want.”
