WhoGoHost has acquired iHost Africa, another Nigerian web hosting company, for an undisclosed amount.

iHost Africa was founded in 2002 by Sailer Technologies as a subsidiary and brings with it about 1,500 new clients for Whogohost. The founders decided it was time to focus on their core business and so they were open to bidders. Whogohost made them an offer and an agreement was reached.

iHost Africa’s founders will not be joining the Whogohost team as they have decided to move on. This Whogohost’s first acquisition since it was founded by Opeyemi Awoyemi in 2006. Since then, Whogohost has established itself as the largest web hosting platform in Nigeria with over 8,000 hosting accounts and more than 20,000 domains.

Update: An earlier version of this article stated that Whogohost has over 8,000 domains. That has been corrected now to “over 8,000 hosting accounts and more than 20,000 domains.”
