Update: I’ve since written and published the review. Read it here.
I wrote last month that Blackberry was bringing the android-powered PRIV to Nigeria, months after it launched everywhere else. I remember looking at the spec sheet and screaming on the inside. 18MP camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 540 ppi display and all that jazz.
Well, the device is here now, and I’ve started interacting with it.
In the box, we’ve got the device (obviously), earbuds, a micro-USB cable, an electric plug, a pin for the SIM tray, and a small pamphlet.
It looks…interesting so far, and I can tell you for free that a lot of effort was put into this one. Blackberry lost a chunk of their market share to Android and Apple, and this is their last attempt to claw back some of the market share in the high-end space. This pits this phone against some of the best in the business; iPhone 6S Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, Samsung Note 5, LG G5, etc.
Will it do better than any of the other high end smartphones on the market?
