fashion meets tech

This September, SPICE TV is partnering with TechCabal to organise an event that will explore how fashion and technology have been (and can be) combined in Nigeria. The event, aptly titled “Fashion Meets Tech”, is happening on September 26, 2016 at Maison Fahrenheit, Lagos from 5pm – 9pm.

At Fashion Meets Tech, there will be conversations about how technology currently enables fashion in Africa – in terms of production, business models, distribution and experiences – and how this integration can be exploited to create more value.

Fashion Meets Tech is going to be a platform for both people in both technology and fashion sectors to network and exchange ideas. The event will also recognise and showcase people in the fashion industry who have pioneered tech-enabled fashion trends.

That said, we are looking for concepts that demonstrate the innovative application or convergence of technology at any stage of the fashion value chain – from design, production, distribution up until consumption. Concepts from across Africa are all welcome, but they have to be finished products that have been released to the market, or have demonstrable pre-market prototypes. Very convincing ideas with visual mockups and an execution description will also be considered.

The top five concepts selected from the applications will not only be showcased at the event, but will also be featured on both SPICE TV and TechCabal.

The deadline for entries is Friday, September, 16 2016, and interested parties can apply here.

UPDATEYou can register to attend Fashion Meets Tech here.
