Since the launch of the Lightning Network, the use cases of Bitcoin have significantly expanded which has further necessitated the need for the next “building block” in the Bitcoin and African business community to be built.

At Bitnob, we are constantly looking to build (and support building) the next big thing in Bitcoin and we believe the Bitnob API can be an integral part of that conversation.

The Bitnob Hackaton competition is designed to foster integration of businesses with the Bitnob for Business API.

This competition aims to make the Bitnob for Business API mainstream with developers, businesses, and other corporate entities.

How Does It Work?

Selected teams are expected to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) built on the Bitnob for Business API.

The main goal is to create a solution for any number of problems that Bitcoin and the Lightning Network can solve in the African business space. Focus must be especially be placed on:

  1. Solving business problems in the African space.
  1. Solve the aforementioned problems with the Bitnob for Business API.

Selection Criteria

Selected teams will have their results judged based on a number of criterions, with emphasis on:

  1. A hosted minimum viable product (MVP).
