Africa’s mobility sector is approaching a transformational moment. As rising fuel costs, rapid urbanisation, climate commitments, and digital innovation reshape transportation, electric mobility is emerging as one of the continent’s most compelling opportunities. In Nigeria, the growth of EV financing, electric motorcycles, electric okada solutions, and broader e-mobility infrastructure is creating significant opportunities for startups such as EV Rides Nigeria to accelerate adoption through innovative financing models.
EV Rides is a Nigerian electric mobility startup whose goal is to accelerate Africa’s transition to clean mobility by financing electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and minibuses for lower-income drivers through a ride-to-own model. By making electric vehicle financing more accessible, EV Rides helps drivers increase earnings, build asset ownership, and transition to sustainable transportation while reducing emissions at scale.
At EV Rides, we believe that building a successful mobility company requires more than vehicles and technology. It requires deep expertise in transportation operations, financing, commercial growth, policy engagement, people strategy, and ecosystem development.
That philosophy is reflected in the team behind EV Rides.
Co-founders Jide Meadows and Dotun Adigun bring more than three decades of combined experience spanning transportation, aviation, logistics, finance, commercial strategy, procurement, business intelligence, media, and operational leadership.
Dotun Adigun has held senior leadership positions across Nigeria’s transportation sector, including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Commercial and Business Intelligence at Transport Services Limited (TSL) and, more recently, the Managing Partner of Jubilee Support Company Limited, where he leads optimisation projects in the Transport and Logistics space. Throughout his career, he has delivered measurable operational and commercial outcomes and established international procurement partnerships globally across Asia, Europe, and South America.
Solidifying his position at the cutting edge of fleet technology, Dotun recently worked on a project pioneering predictive maintenance frameworks for electric vehicle fleets. By developing data-driven models to precisely determine the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of EV batteries and powertrains, this initiative directly fuels EV Rides’ infrastructure layer. This proprietary technical approach allows the company to systematically mitigate battery degradation risks, extend asset lifecycles, and mathematically de-risk the unit economics of its ride-to-own fleet. His experience also spans aviation, where he successfully launched new regional routes, increased passenger traffic, improved aircraft utilisation, and drove revenue growth through data-driven market expansion strategies.

Complementing this operational expertise is Jide Meadows, Founder and CEO of EV Rides, whose background combines finance, sales, strategic partnerships, investment advisory, and international media engagement. Over a decade-long career, Jide generated more than $220,000 in media sales across globally recognised business and media platforms including Forbes Africa, CNBC Africa, and other international media brands. His experience in business development, ecosystem building, capital access, and revenue growth provides EV Rides with valuable market access and partnership opportunities as it scales electric mobility solutions across Africa.
EV Rides has further strengthened its leadership capacity through a diverse advisory team focused on organisational excellence, financial inclusion, and gender-responsive growth.

Having supported operations across more than 22 countries spanning EMEA, LATAM, APAC, and Sub-Saharan Africa, she contributes expertise in organisational design, talent development, compliance, and operational scaling. Currently serving as Senior Specialist, People Operations at Andela, she provides strategic guidance on building inclusive and high-performing teams.

Her expertise supports EV Rides’ mission of expanding access to mobility financing for underserved riders and transport operators.
Peace Oyetegbe, formerly of Moniepoint, serves as Growth and Financial Inclusion Advisor, bringing extensive experience in digital financial services, market expansion, and customer-centric product development.
As part of its commitment to building a scalable and investment-ready electric mobility company, EV Rides is also a member of the Itana Digital Residency ecosystem. Itana, Africa’s first Digital Special Economic Zone, is designed to help startups build the structures, systems, governance, and operational foundations required for sustainable growth. Beyond regulatory clarity, business infrastructure, and investor access, Itana provides EV Rides with a community of ambitious founders, including builders on the path to creating Africa’s next unicorn companies. Through hands-on support, founder collaboration, and practical guidance on scaling startups across African markets, Itana helps de-risk startups against failure by strengthening the fundamentals required for long-term success.
