Body and display
The NOTE Note 40 is a rectangular lightweight device with smooth edges, weighing about 190g.
It comes in the colours Titan Gold and Obsidian Black. The look of the Obsidian Black is like staring into the black sky on a starry night. This device has a 94% screen-to-body ratio with ultra-thin bezels giving users a wide viewing area and great viewing experience.
The NOTE 40 pro is also a rectangular lightweight phone but it is thinner than the Note 40 Pro and weighs the same 190g. It comes in the colours Vintage Green and Titan Gold. The Vintage Green is a vegan leather skin that is scratch-resistant. It also comes with a similar coloured pouch that allows mag charging for convenience. This device has a 93.80% screen-to-body ratio with a curved corning-gorilla glass screen and barely visible bezels. This nearly bezel-less screen has an unobstructed display creating an immersive viewing experience. The fifth-generation Gorilla Glass screen is twice as scratch-resistant as other aluminium silicon glass and is strong enough to withstand 1.2 metre drop on hard surfaces.
Every device in the NOTE 40 series comes with dual speakers designed with JBL and gives high-quality audio output and a premium listening experience. The devices in this series all have on-screen fingerprint displays for easier usage and are all splash and dust resistant (IP54 rating).
Both the NOTE 40 Pro and NOTE 40 have a super-responsive 120Hz AMOLED display with an incredible colour contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1 producing exceptional colour accuracy. This display also offers a peak brightness of 1300 nits in the brightest outdoor conditions, meaning no matter the time of day, the visual display remains clear.
Performance and charging
The NOTE 40 comes with a Helio G99 Ultimate chip built on the latest XOS 14 with 8GB of RAM. Users get a 45W fast charger coupled with wireless magnetic charging and reverse charging capabilities. A 26-minute charge gets the device up to 50% battery and this can last a full 24 hours with regular usage. XOS 14 comes equipped with Folax, (AI voice assistant) and this AI can help users read and summarise texts and academic papers, generate video scripts, and much more.
The NOTE 40 pro, on the other hand, has the Infinix self-developed Cheetah X1 Chip and a variety of charging options. The device comes with a 70W wired charger and a magnetic charging pad. It has fast charging capabilities, wireless MagCharging, and reverse charging capabilities that allow users to power other devices using the NOTE 40 as a power source. With a 30-minute charge at 10% battery life, users can get to 90%+ charge that lasts over 24 hours with regular use. The Cheetah X1 chip is built to allow efficient power management whenever the phone is in use and it enables bypass charging for when your phone is in intense use like while gaming. This bypass charging directs current directly to the motherboard preventing overheating while charging and using. The Cheetah X1 chipset also comes with real-time monitoring of how much current is being delivered into the phone and automatic adjustments to prevent overheating.
Taking into account the importance of phones in modern life, Infinix has improved on its All-Round FastCharge technology. and paired it with the 5000mAh battery to help users operate their phones efficiently and conveniently anywhere, anytime, and in any condition.
Camera
Both the NOTE 40 and the NOTE 40 Pro come with a 1080p main back camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. However, only the NOTE 40 pro has front camera flash for better selfies in low-light conditions.
