In a move that could reshape the economics of ride-hailing in Nigeria, FlexxyDrive has received official approval from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, enabling it to operate as a licensed e-hailing platform in the state.
The company, developed by Germany-based Flexxy GmbH, is positioning itself as a “driver-first” mobility solution, introducing a zero-commission model that allows drivers to retain their full earnings — a significant departure from traditional ride-hailing structures.
According to company leadership, the regulatory approval validates both its compliance standards and its disruptive business model.

Co-Founder Ajimijereomo Paul highlighted the economic implications of the model, stating:
“Drivers across Lagos lose a significant percentage of their earnings to platform commissions every day. FlexxyDrive was built to challenge that model through a more transparent and driver-focused approach. Receiving MOT approval confirms that a fairer system can also be built compliantly and at scale.”
Beyond driver earnings, FlexxyDrive integrates a multi-service digital ecosystem into a single application. Riders benefit from cashback rewards after trips, while both drivers and passengers have access to an in-app wallet system designed to streamline payments and incentives.
Technical Co-Founder Stan Ibor explained that the platform’s architecture was built with scalability and safety at its core, incorporating features such as:
- Real-time trip tracking
- Secure pickup verification using passcodes
- Ride-sharing capabilities
- Planned expansion into courier and logistics services

The platform has already surpassed 50,000 downloads and is gaining traction in Nigeria’s competitive mobility space.
FlexxyDrive’s participation in the NVIDIA Inception ecosystem further signals its technological ambition, providing access to advanced computing resources and cloud infrastructure support.
Industry analysts suggest that the company’s integrated model — combining mobility, fintech, and logistics — reflects a broader shift toward “super-app” ecosystems in emerging markets.
With a €1 million pre-seed funding round in preparation, FlexxyDrive aims to deepen its presence in Nigeria while expanding into other African markets.
The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Ebri Inah, is overseeing the rollout of operational strategies across Lagos, where on-ground activation campaigns are already underway in major commercial and residential hubs.
As Lagos continues to grapple with transportation challenges, new entrants like FlexxyDrive may play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban mobility across the continent.
