Nigerian subscription video on-demand company, iROKOtv is providing Nollywood titles for the the OTT box, mobile and internet offerings of the London-based ethnic-focused Internet TV, Lebara Play.
iROKOtv’s company CEO, Jason Njoku made the announcement earlier today on his personal blog.
“iROKO are happy to be in the mix. We are partners in extending a significant chunk of our library as part of their new OTT box, mobile and internet offerings. Lebara and iROKO share a common perspective,” Jason said.
Lebara Play is the Internet TV offering of telecom group, Lebara, and it launched over the weekend in Europe with a catalogue of over 3, 000 movies in more than 13 languages and with 150 channels. Pan-African channel, Ebony Life TV and Lagos-based terrestrial TV channel, Silverbird are other licensees on Lebara Play.
The services are currently geo-fenced in Africa.
iROKOtv, after Africa Magic, has the largest catalogue of Nollywood titles in the world and the company has been signing a slew of content partnership deals in recent months. iROKOtv signed the deal to curate two dedicated channels on the Pay TV provider, StarTimes and a similar deal few days later that will see iROKOtv curate the African section of Netflix.
