Lagos-based Wecyclers, a startup that recycles waste in low-income Nigeria, has won the Pitch For Lagos startup pitch event today.
The startup won the $55,000 prize money at the pitch event that held at Lagos’ co-working space, CcHub.
Nine pre-selected startups pitched at the event including, Aella Credit, BudgIt, Queens of Africa, Callbase, Eve and Tribe, Jekalo, Lizzie’s creation and the winners, Wecyclers.
Case Foundation, owned by AOL co-founder, Steve Case and wife, Jean Case have been touring Africa and Wecyclers are most recent in the list of impact investment portfolio by the company into Africa in the days since the start of the Global Entrepreneurship summit that held in Kenya last weekend.
