The second edition of Africabeta is happening this Saturday, January 30. The event was meant to hold in December last year but had to be postponed for logistical reasons. Now, it’s back on for sure.

Africabeta 2.0 is powered by Access Bank. In this edition, tagged ‘Fixing Nigerian Payments’, we will be having discussions around online payments in Nigeria and the challenge they pose for Nigerian merchants and developers. We will also be proposing solutions to these problems.

Some of the brightest entrepreneurs and payment experts in Nigeria will be present to share their perspectives and experiences with us at the event. We will have Oluyomi Ojo, Founder/CEO of Printivo, Honey Ogundeyi, Founder/CEO of Fashpa, Emeka Mordi, COO of Spinlet and Chinedu Azodoh, CEO of Max.ng.

We will also be learning from people who have had experiences with creating and operating payment platforms in Nigeria. We will listen to Ope Adeoye, Head Business Development, Payment & VAS at Interswitch, Adewale Adetugbo, CTO at Telnet and JR Kanu, Associate Director, Payments and Digital Goods at Konga.

Heads of e-payment divisions of various Nigerians banks will be in attendance. So for the first time, all the parties involved in the payments process – developers, regulators, merchants and end users – will gather in one place to identify the challenges and discuss the way forward.

You will be able to follow the entire conference either through livestreaming or live-tweets from the  TechCabal Twitter account. Real time community updates will also be available via Radar.

The event is free to attend but seats are seriously (emphasis on ‘seriously’) limited so you have to go register now to save your seat. If you’ve got a friend who you know needs to be there, you should tell them.

See you on Saturday eyin omo wobe.
