Home security just got an upgrade. Ugo Eye’s second generation security alarm device can be controlled with an app.

Ugo Eye is a startup that brands and sells security electronics and it has launched the second generation of its Ibises alarm system. It’s designed for home and business use.

One package costs £85 and comes with a main control panel, one wireless door sensor, one wireless motion detector and two remote keys. Its external wireless siren emits 120db of sound, with flashing lights. 120 db is bloody loud. Plus, main device is rechargeable with a standby time of 10 hours.

You can control it with an app on your smartphone. The app is available on Google Play and Apple App Store.

The device uses heat detection and GSM technology to monitor your home and report break ins to you.

Martin Isadinso of Best Naija explains how the motion detector works. “The Ibises motion detector uses Passive Infrared (PIR) technology to detect skin temperature through emitted black body radiation at mid-infrared wavelengths then sends an infrared signal to a control unit which triggers a high pitched siren and a telephone call to pre-programmed numbers.”

So, the device calls you whenever there is a break in.

The alarm system was only released in the UK and sold exclusively on Amazon. However, Africans can purchase it from Amazon via Mall for Africa. You can find other Ugo Eye products and the first generation of the Ibises on Konga.
