The result of the Office of the Citizen hackathon is in – Ract team takes the first prize of N100, 000.

The group’s winning presentation was based on an app/forum that would enable citizens discuss and collaborate over issues plaguing them. Users would also have the option to start petitions and organize real world meetups. A total of four groups participated in the hackathon which held at the budgiT office in Lagos – Rant & Act, Virtual Office of the Citizen, ACNORA and the eventual winners RACT.

The aim of the hackathon is to galvanize the efforts of activists and active citizens across Nigeria, to influence the dynamics between the governors and the governed in a way that it increases the government’s effectiveness. Paradigm Initiative Nigeria partnered with Enough is Enough Nigeria Coalition and BudgiT to host the Hackathon.
