Ugandan startup that lets users shop from online shopping sites in the US, UK, Dubai and China and have their purchases shipped to Uganda, InterShipUG, has won the the Kampala edition of the Seedstars World startup pitch competition.
At the event, InterShipUG contended nine other startups including a location-based laundry service app, Yoza, Exact and Clear, a ticket booking app, Tikiti app and seven others.
Top three startups from the Kampala event received one year of mentoring on brand strategy and public relations by Corporate Image and three months of free keywords on shortcode provided by Africa Talking, according to pctechmag.
InterShip UG will now join 50 other startups from other regions to compete at the global finals of the Seedstars World competition in Geneva, February 2016.
At the global finals, the startups will compete for $1,500,000 in equity investment that will be shared equally among three winners.
