In less than two days, TechCabal will be hosting the maiden edition of Africabeta. If you’ve been following proceedings here, you’ll also remember we called for entries into the WeChat Ideathon.

The ideathon is a parallel experience within Africabeta in which applicants (startups and developers) stand to gain early deployment access to the WeChat platform and go-to-market support for their products and services.

Well, ten concepts have emerged as top seeds from the applicants to the WeChat Ideathon. Here they are in no particular order:

1. Gingerbox NG by Adekunle Jinadu. A startup that delivers healthy foods which includes fruits, vegetables (like tomato, pepper, etc) as well as chicken, to consumers at their offices or homes.

2. Yuzah by Ovo Emorhokpor. A diesel order and delivery service that allows users to request immediate delivery of diesel to their home or office.

3. Traclist Software Company by Emotu Balogun. An online fashion ecommerce platform.

4. Jay Osbie by Adejuwon Isola-Osobu. An online ecommerce platform focused on men’s clothing.

5. ChopUp by Zubair Abubakar. A company creating mobile games with strong African narratives and themes.

6. Tranzit Nigeria by Ugochi Ugbomeh. A company offering transportation and delivery services.

7. Jekalo by Bolarinwa Motoni. A ride sharing platform offering more security.

8. Pass.ng by Samson Abioye. An online service that helps students prepare for virtually any Nigerian exam.

9. Foodstantly by Uche Ariolu. An online marketplace for fresh farm produce as well as processed food, including deliveries.

10. Trackenvoy by Adedeji Opoola. A tool that helps monitor and track people and products remotely.

Other outstanding ideas include Davtonlearn, Showroom NG, Tiketmobile, Livinginlekki, SoPlanned, Lucy.ng, Reelif, Talking Bookz, Excelund, Tacuta and The Tagee. There were more than 80 entries into the ideathon.

The Africabeta conference is on Saturday, October 3, 2015. See you there.
