On June 10, 2025, tech leaders, investors, capital market stakeholders, and data scientists gathered for a conversation hosted by Statisense on “Connecting Intelligence to Africa’s Data.” at the Four Points by Sheraton in Victoria Island, Lagos,  The event marked the official unveiling of Three AI-powered platforms: Immortal BI, Immortal MI, and Immortal PI, which are engineered to revolutionise business intelligence and market analytics in Africa.

Femi Bejide, the cofounder and CEO of Statisense, delivered a compelling keynote that underscored Africa’s data infrastructure challenges and laid out an ambitious vision for data democratisation across the continent. With over 3 billion digital data impressions and growing traction across online platforms, Statisense positions itself as the most followed data company in Nigeria’s social conversation space.

“There is nothing stopping African businesses from lasting over 200 years,” Bejide said, adding that what the continent needs is the right data infrastructure.

Dr. Yemi Osindero, Managing Partner at Uhuru Investment Partners, spoke about the role of Immortal AI in transforming business and investment decisions. “Platforms like these make it easier for investors to understand markets and businesses in real time,” he said, explaining that the product reduces opacity and empowers smarter capital allocation.

Introducing Immortal BI: Turning messy data into simple storytelling

The highlight of the day was the official launch of Immortal BI, a platform that promises to transform the way businesses across Nigeria and Africa use data. Immortal BI is an AI-powered analytics and storytelling engine that simplifies complex datasets into visually compelling narratives, enabling business leaders to make informed decisions without relying solely on data analysts.

“Nine out of ten businesses in Africa are driving blind,” Bejide revealed, citing internal research. He explained further that Immortal BI simplifies things by reducing the costs of employing a number of data analysts or tax consultants.” Drawing a parallel with Canva’s disruption of the design space, Bejide noted that Immortal BI aims to make every business user a data analyst, eliminating the need for specialised teams to derive insights.

Immortal MI: A bold new direction for market intelligence

The second product introduced was Immortal MI, a local and indigenous market intelligence tool focused on the Nigerian capital market. Designed to appeal to the growing tech-savvy and financially curious youth demographic, Immortal MI offers simple, AI-driven insights for investors, which are well beyond what traditional global platforms currently offer.

“Only about 500,000 Nigerians are active in the stock market, yet over 117 million placed a bet last year,” Bejide said, highlighting a startling disparity. “Immortal MI is here to bridge that gap.”

The platform enables users to receive real-time alerts on financial report summaries, markets,  and insider trading signals through AI-generated briefs. It also introduces “Market Radio,” a live, voice-activated feature that delivers AI-narrated updates and trading trends for those who prefer auditory information.

He also spoke about a third product, Immortal PI, which specialises in prediction intelligence. This makes use of AI to make predictions based on anything ranging from the weather to football.

Addressing AI hallucinations

Bejide addressed concerns regarding the reliability of AI in data-sensitive contexts, especially because of the tendency for current AI models to produce inaccurate outputs. He explained that Immortal AI models do not connect directly to raw AI models. Instead, the Statisense team has built a middleware layer that filters errors before exposing organisational data to AI processing.

“This middle layer is essential,” he said. “It ensures that we take only the good parts of AI and leave out the unreliable bits. Our approach is not to replace human decision-making, but to support it.”

A vision to onboard 1,000 businesses by September

Bejide laid out a strategic rollout plan for Immortal AI products:

  • July: Open access to 100 businesses and banks
  • August: Expand to 500 businesses
  • September: Scale to 1,000 businesses

According to Bejide, this expansion is necessary to ensure that African businesses start building long-term, data-driven strategies for growth.

Conclusion

The unveiling of Immortal BI and Immortal MI marks a significant milestone for Nigeria’s data intelligence landscape. As the event wrapped up, attendees left with a shared sense of urgency and driven by the belief that Africa’s next major leap will come from not just collecting data, but making it speak.
