I hate the global news cycle. Simply because it’s global. Simply because a video of some idiot pretending to jerk off on the TC Disrupt stage will get more views than all of Nigeria’s tech blogs put together.
But that’s trivial on a cosmic scale, compared to the effect of an official Apple device presentation. The collective heart of the tech world skips a whole 24 hour beat. Nothing else matters. In that period, there’s a galactic Apple reality distortion field in which all conversation ceases to exist. Although, this doesn’t bar brief static interruptions with news of Syria, NSAgate and of course, Miley Cyrus.

I was going to post some important but probably boring stuff, but I’ll just keep it till tomorrow. Because thanks to the new iPhone 5S, the rumoured iPhone 5C, and all the other stuff they’ll be announcing today, you probably won’t see this in the first place.
So I’m gonna head back to Twitter and watch the fandroids and iSheep go at each other in the hours leading up to when Tim Cook makes what might be another industry defining presentation later today at Cupertino.
