The Blackberry Z3 was first launched in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the Far East, in May, and then it was announced as coming in mid-July to South Africa. And now, Nigeria is next in line to receive the latest low cost BlackBerry.
BlackBerry has a fairly big market share in Nigeria so it makes sense to see the Z3 land here, so soon after its release. The official date for the Z3’s arrival in Nigeria has not been announced, but The Z3 retails at an official price of $200, about N32,500. The Z3 features a 5-inch touchscreen with 540×960 resolution, BlackBerry OS 10.2.1, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM, a 5MP rear camera, 1080p video recording, a 1.1MP front-facing camera, a 2,500mAh non-removable battery [Amen!] and access to the Amazon Android app store – by September.
The Z3 is may be mediocre spec-wise, but it is in direct competition with the low-cost Android touchscreen devices for a market it had lost to cheap Android OS phones.
We will update this post as soon as we have more information about the release date, but In the meantime you can pre-order the BlackBerry Z3 here.
