Hisense, a Chinese equipment manufacturer, has opened its African headquarters in South Africa, Memeburn reports.
The new headquarters will also serve as the company’s showroom with hardware displays ranging from smart TVs to smartphones.
“The move is especially exciting for the South African economy, which essentially means increased sales and production, necessitating even greater job creation,” an excerpt from the report states.
This is not the first time Hisense has established a division in South Africa. The Chinese manufacturer established a manufacturing plant in Atlantis to produce electronics in 2013. The report notes that such locally manufactured products have advantages for indigenous consumers as import costs and taxation will not be a problem.
