MTN Group is sponsoring the 2015 edition of the Highway Africa Conference. The conference brings African Journalists all over the world together to discuss advances in the profession.
This year’s edition themed “Journalism in the City”, will examine how ICT, innovation, geography, politics, economic activities, and politics influences how Journalists report, as well as how it shapes a people’s narrative.
According to Chris Maroleng, MTN Group Executive for corporate affairs, “African journalists holds the responsibility for driving our continent’s narrative. As a proudly African company, we recognize the significance of Highway Africa in bringing together these journalists, to engage about issues facing our continent, and shaping the narrative.”
The 2015 edition will hold between August 30th and 31st on the Rhodes University Campus in Grahamstown, South Africa.
The High Way conference is an annual gathering of African journalist and this year’s edition is positioned to drive the use of technology, and ICT by journalists in the advancement of democratic ideals and development on the African continent.
