The figures are in. According to Jay Yoo, a smartphone industry analyst at Korea Investment & Securities, Samsung has shipped over 9.5 million S7 phones since their big launch on March 11. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are selling better than anyone anticipated, since the initial estimate was 7 million units in a month.
“It looks like the sell-in numbers have been pretty good and analysts are raising their sales forecasts for the S7 this year,” said Park Jung-hoon, another analyst from HDC Asset Management.
I think we can all agree that the Samsung S7 Edge is the best smartphone in the world. I mean, Bankole’s review is more a puff piece than anything else, but the department it really shines, is the camera. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this real quick.
Some people have argued that growth has slowed down because the high-end smartphone market has gotten matured, but Samsung’s 10 million figure looks impressive enough to put those fears to rest. That is, until you take into consideration the fact that Apple pushed 13 million units of the 6S and 6S Plus in their OPENING WEEKEND. No comment.
