Rocket Internet-backed online hotel booking site, Jovago has announced it is expanding its services to Myanmar and Bangladesh by July this year with a full customer service team.

According to a Rocket Internet media release

obtained by TechCabal, the expansion is in response to the growing demand for tourism and an online hotel booking solutions to help boost the market potential in the sector.

Paul Midy, CEO of Jovago.com said, “Myanmar and Bangladesh have shown great potential in the tourism sector. Locals, tourists and expats will also profit from the new service, as it simplifies the hotel searching and booking process. Jovago can be a key player for the travellers who want to visit the country.”

Jovago will collaborate with parent company Asia Pacific Internet Group (APACIG), a joint venture of Rocket Internet and Ooredoo, which already has existing companies in that region

Jovago has its presence in East Africa, Europe, West Africa and Asia. Myanmar and Bangladesh are both South Asian countries.
