A team of Samsung Electronics employees are in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo to refurbish classrooms and also donate computers to the Dibua Dia Ditumba Primary School.

This initiative is part of activities to mark the Samsung’s annual Employee Volunteer Programme holding this week. The volunteers will introduce the teachers and students at the institution to basic computer skills and also paint the classrooms.

“The engagement model has been warmly welcomed in communities across Africa. Because programmes are implemented in consultation with communities and are designed to meet their felt needs, they develop a sense of ownership of the projects,” said Bill Kim, managing director of the DRC branch, Samsung Electronics East Africa

The program is in collaboration with with Action de Development Communautaire Dibua (ADCD) and Better World and and will run till Thursday, 30th, july, 2015.
