Rocket Internet’s online vehicle marketplace, Carmudi, has entered a partnership with Autobox that will allow anyone who buys a vehicle through Carmudi have access to pre purchase inspection and diagnostics from Autobox.

Ordinarily, Carmudi lets you buy or sell new or used cars online but does not include vehicle inspection and diagnostics. This partnership with Autobox will mean that those services will be added to the mix and everything can now be done online.

Autobox is an online platform where car owners can connect with mechanics for vehicle inspections and repairs, and purchase spare parts.

Autobox was the 2nd runner up of TechCabal Battlefield competition in February 2014 and it got picked up for investment by the Lagos Angels Network four months later. In May 2015, it was admitted into CcHUB’s Incubation Programme and received seed funding of more than $15,000.

The platform started out by selling car spare parts alone but has since pivoted, including the Autobox Mechanic – where you can book appointments with mechanics, complete with quotes for labour and car parts – into its services.

As part of their partnership with Carmudi, Autobox is offering ten free vehicle pre-purchase inspections and ten free vehicle diagnostics for three months to Carmudi customers. Check out Carmudi’s Twitter and Instagram pages for more information on this.
