Hotels.ng, Nigerian online hotel booking startup has said that 6,000 hotels have been signed up to its platform as at December 2014.
This it revealed in an emailed press release in which it also stated that the startup is now in the black, making “multiple our monthly expenses” in profit by the end of the year.
In 2013, Hotels.ng raised a total of $225,000 in seed funding from Jason Njoku’s Spark.ng, which is believed to own about 35 percent equity in the startup. The startup competes directly with Jovago.com, a similar Rocket Internet-backed venture.
“We recorded almost no customer complaints in last two months, while booking tens of thousands of people,” said Mark Essien, founder and CEO of Hotels.ng. “It is group work that got us this far, and it’s group work that will take us into gear two in 2015″.
